Latrice Pichon, PhD, MPH, CHES
Pronouns: She/Her

Dr. Latrice C. Pichon is a Professor in the Division of Social and Behavioral Sciences at the University of Memphis School of Public Health. She has worked in the field of HIV/AIDS for 15 years, during which she has sought to increase HIV awareness and prevention, as well as better understand HIV outreach, care, and needs amongst vulnerable populations. Throughout the 2010’s, Dr. Pichon regularly assisted with HIV prevention events put on by a recently established organization, The Headliners, and formed strong partnerships that highlighted the unmet needs of People Living with HIV (PLWH). Beginning in 2019, Dr. Pichon partnered with Ms. Andrea Stubbs, MPA, and set out to address HIV stigma in the Mid-South region by utilizing relationships with community and faith-based organizations. As a result, Dr. Pichon helped establish the Snap Out Stigma project that has helped to provide on-demand health education for HIV.

Andrea Stubbs, PhD, MPA
Pronouns: She/Her

Dr. Andrea Stubbs is the Administrative Director for the HPV Cancer Prevention Program at  St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Prior to her current role, Dr. Stubbs served as the Manager of HIV Community Programs for 14 years, during which she oversaw various HIV prevention and treatment protocols targeting sexual minority youth. In this time, Dr. Stubbs helped to form The Headliners, a grassroots organization providing testing and prevention initiatives for underground African American Men Who have Sex with Men (MSM) and Transgender subculture. In coordination with The Headliners, Dr. Stubbs helped organize and execute countless HIV prevention events in the Mid-South area. Over the course of these events, Dr. Stubbs and Dr. Pichon began discussing the unmet needs experienced by PLWH. These conversations led to the conceptualization of ways to address stigma, low socio-economic status, and countless other challenges faced by the HIV community. In 2019, when a grant to address stigma became available, Dr. Stubbs and Dr. Pichon applied, and the Snap Out Stigma project was established. Since then, Snap Out Stigma has provided on-demand health education across the greater Memphis area.
